Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson men's soccer freshman Yianni Sarioglou (Perry Hall/Calvert Hall) scored the game's lone goal on a penalty kick in the 108th minute to give the Mustangs a highly-contested 1-0 victory over Marymount (Va.) in a key CAC contest Saturday at Mustang Stadium.
The Mustangs (7-7-1, 3-3 CAC) evened their record at .500 and picked up a key conference victory, moving into the sixth-place in the standings and final spot in the CAC Men's Soccer Championship. They also improved their record to 2-0-1 in overtime games this season.
Sarioglou scored his team-leading third goal and eighth point of the season with all three of his goals coming on game-winners.
Saturday's game featured 23 fouls, five yellow cards and two red cards.
Senior Ryan Flannelly (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex), who was honored prior to the game on Senior Day, made two saves to pick up his seventh win of the season and sixth by shutout. He currently holds the school record with 32 wins and 12 shutouts.
Mike Madigan had one save for the Saints (3-7-3, 1-2-2 CAC) who remained winless in five overtime games this season.
Stevenson travels to Frostburg on Wednesday for a CAC contest with the Bobcats beginning at 3:30 p.m.
