YORK, Pa. - Antonio Bua's shot from the top of the box in the 79th minute redirected off a Stevenson defender in front of the goal and snuck past Mustang junior keeper Ryan Flannelly (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) into the upper corner for the game's only goal to lift York (Pa.) to a 1-0 victory in its CAC opener Wednesday at Kinsley Field.

The win was the fifth in six games at home for the Spartans (6-3, 1-0 CAC) this season compared to just one in three on the road. York entered the game ranked at No. 19 in the D3soccer.com Top 25.

The game was delayed by an 86-minute lightning delay in the 10th minute, forcing it to be completed in near dark conditions.

Despite being out shot 25-3 and on the short end of a 9-0 margin in corner kicks, the Mustang defense held strong for 78 minutes as Flannelly made five saves.

Meanwhile, the Spartan defense held sophomore Ansger Otto (Willingboro,N.J./Willingboro), the nation's leader in goals and points across all three NCAA divisions, to just two shots, neither of which were on goal.

Jesse Derksen was required to make just one save in the 42 minute to earn his fourth shutout victory of the season.

Stevenson (6-2, 0-2 CAC) returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Dover, Delaware to face rival Wesley at 4:00 p.m. The Mustangs won two of three meetings with the Wolverines a year ago, including a 2-1 victory on the road on Oct. 25, 2009.
