OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Four different players scored, including junior Chris Sokolis (Perry Hall/Perry Hall) who netted his first goal of the season, as the Stevenson men's soccer team won its fifth-straight this season and fifth consecutive at home, defeating Gettysburg 1-0 Saturday at Caves Athletics Complex.

The Mustangs (5-0) are now 12-1-2 in their last 15 games dating back to last season and are off to their best start in the 17-year history of the program.

Senior John Adamo (Glassboro, N.J./Washington Township) opened the scoring in the 25th minute when he scored his second goal of the season off a corner kick that was deflected in the box.

Adamo continues his scoring barrage as he is currently second on the team with five points on two goals and one assist after entering the season with one assist in 30 career games.

Adamo's goal stood as the game's only tally until the 50th minute as the Mustangs expanded on its 1-0 halftime lead with two second half goals.

Sophomore Ansger Otto (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro) scored his eighth goal of the season off an assist from junior Josh Danza (Pasadena/Archbishop Spaulding) who lobbed the ball up over two Gettysburg defenders into the box.

The goal marked the third game-winner of the season for Otto and the fifth of his 25-game career.

The Bullets (1-3) cut their deficit in half 10 minutes later when Tyler Shaffer scored his first of the season off a header in the box at 59:25.

Sokolis would then pick up some insurance for the Mustangs with his fourth career tally off a feed from Otto in the 71st minute.

Junior Ryan Flannelly (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) made three saves in picking up his fifth victory and the 17th of his career. He now boasts a 0.44 goals against average and a .929 saves percentage this season.

Stevenson hosts Shenandoah on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
