CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Stevenson statistically
dominated Washington (Md.) on the road Thursday night, but Shoremen
freshman Brandon George scored the game's only goal, assisted by
freshman Jon Evans to lead the home team to a 1-0 win at al-spacing:

The Mustangs (2-2) outshot Washington 26-7, including 13-4 in
the first half, but neither team could get on the board in the
first 45 minutes as the Shoremen's Chris Phipps made four stops. He
finished the game with 10.
Stevenson sophomore Ryan Flannelly (Middlesex,
N.J./Middlesex) allowed just his fourth goal in four
starts this season while totaling two saves.
George
scored the only goal in the game's 65th minute after he redirected
Evans' pass from the right side. The play represented the first
career points for both and gave Washington its first win at home
since a 4-0 win over Haverford on Oct. 24, 2007, ending a streak of
nine consecutive losses.
Following George's goal, the Mustangs outshot the Shoremen 9-2
in the final 25 minutes, but Phipps made four of his nine saves to
pick up his second career shutout in 12 starts.
Stevenson returns to action on Saturday night when they travel
to local rival Goucher. Game time is at 7:30 p.m.
