Glen Burnie, MD - Game 1 was one of the best baseball games of
the season as Villa and Wesley went to extra innings for the 2nd
straight Game. Mustangs Starter, Junior Wade
Keenan (4-1), went the first 5 innings without allowing a
hit until the sixth when Wesley put up a single run, then 2 more in
the 7th.
The Mustangs tied it in the bottom of the 7th on a double by
Junior Ryan Baione, and a sac fly by Freshman
Dustin Tarlow. Unfortunately, the Mustangs
couldn't muster another run as Wesley reliever Colin Warner again
shut the door and picked up the victory as Wesley scored 1 in the
top of the 9th on a bases loaded walk.
Baione was the only Mustang to have a multi-hit
game going 3-5 with 3 doubles.
Game 2 was a complete debacle for the Mustangs, they struggled to
throw strikes, stuggled to field ground balls and struggled to hit
at times as Wesley swept the season series. The Mustangs allowed 8
walks, and 8 errors during game 2.
Again Baione led the offense going 4-5 with 2
runs scored, Keenan added 3 hits with 4 RBI's, and
Senior Buddy Breidenbaugh added 3 hits.
Sophomore George Papuchis contributed 2 hits
and 3 RBI's.
The Mustangs are back in action on Sunday in another CAC
Double-Header vs Gallaudet University at 12pm at Bachman
Sports Complex.
