Salisbury, MD - Villa Julie dropped the first game of a Double
Header to Salisbury 4-1, behind a strong pitching performance
from Junior Chris Hayden. Salisbury scored 3
in the bottom of the first on an array of hits including a seeing
eye single and a bunt single, but the Mustangs could not recover.
The lone run came off of a Solo Home Run by Junior Brett
Steele who finished the first game 2-3.
In game two the Mustangs made an array of mental and physical
mistakes to ensure a Salisbury victory by a score of 17-3.
The Sea Gulls put the game away with a 6 run 3rd inning,
where most of the runs were unearned because of errors committed by
the Mustangs as they finished the game with 6 errors in total.
Offensively, Junior Ryan Baione was 2-2 with
an RBI, Freshman Kyle Van Beek was 2-3 with 1 RBI,
and Sophomore George Papuchis was 3-4, hitting his
10th double of the season. The Mustangs are now 8-8-1, and
are back in action at home Sunday at 1pm vs Keystone College.
