Glen Burnie, MD - The Mustangs came back from Spring Break with
their bats still in hand and pounded out 17 hits scoring 17 runs vs
McDaniel College on Tuesday.
The Mustangs were fresh of an impressive 4-1 record over
Spring Break and were eager to take that winning form into today's
contest against local rival McDaniel College. The Green
Terror opened up the scoring in the 2nd inning, putting up a
pair of unearned runs. After scoring 1 in the 2nd the
Mustangs erupted for 9 in the 3rd, and 5 more in the 4th to put the
game out of reach. Sophomore Derrick Nason
pitched 7 innings allowing 2 Earned Runs to pick up his 2nd victory
on the season. Offensively, Junior Brett
Steele finished 4-5 with 3 RBI's, Freshman Kyle
Van Beek was 2-5, with 2B, and a 3B with 4 RBI's, while
Junior Wade Keenan chipped in a 3-5, with a 2B,
and a 3B with 2 RBI's. Also tacking on 2 hits each were
Senior Buddy Breidenbaugh, and Junior Ryan
Baione.
The Mustangs are back in action on Wednesday at their home
field, Bachman Sports Complex, when the face CAC rival
Salisbury University. Gametime is set for 3 pm.
