Villa Julie faced CAC opponent St. Mary's and came out with the win, 3-1.

The Mustangs came onto the field ready to overcome last season's loss to St. Mary's. Villa Julie's Tonia Cristino (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) tallied two goals in the first half, one with an assist from Brittany Bangert (White Marsh, MD/Eastern Tech).

In the second half, St. Mary's scored their first and only goal of the game. The Mustangs returned three minutes later with a goal by Kelly Townley (Baltimore, MD/John Carroll) assisted by Rose Phelan (Carney, MD/Loch Raven).

Villa Julie's intense defense and goalkeeper Casey Brown's (Barnesville, MD/Poolesville) nine saves kept the score down for St. Mary's. The Mustangs increase their record to 5-3 (2-1 CAC) while St. Mary's falls to 4-6 (2-1 CAC).

The Mustangs are back in action on September 27 as they travel to Moravian College with a 1:00 p.m. start.
