.- Game 1 was a pitchers duel as Mustangs
Starter sophomore Chris Hayden battled Keuka
starter Simon Mills for a Mustangs victory 2-1 in extra innings.
Keuka took the lead with a single run in the 5th. The
Mustangs responded in the bottom of the 6th with a single run
after junior Alex Laddbush doubled,
and junior Buddy Breidenbaugh singled him in.
After Hayden got the first out in the 7th,
Keuka got a 3 run error thanks to a miscue by the Mustangs.
With a runner on 3rd and 1 out the Mustangs went to
closer junior Alex Laddbush. He
proceeded to strikeout the next 2 to finish the inning. In
the Bottom of the Eighth, Sophomore Wade Keenan
led off with a single, followed by a Sac Bunt from
Laddbush to set the stage for junior
Jimmy Smith's game winning single through the left
side. Hayden threw 6.1 innings allowing 6
hits 1 earned run and 6 strikeouts. Laddbush
picked up his first win of the season by pitched 1.2 innings and
striking out 4. Offensively, sophomore Ryan
Baione and junior Buddy Breidenbaugh
each picked up two hits.
In game 2, the Mustangs bats came alive early. After spotting
Keuka a 3 run lead in the first they scored the next 10 before
giving up 5 runs on 3 errors in the 5th to make the game close
before sealing the deal late by adding 2 more runs. Junior
Phil Kraska picked up the victory, going 4
innings, and junior Alex Laddbush notched his
3rd save of the season pitching 1.2 inning striking out 1 and not
allowing a baserunner. The Mustangs aided the Keuka attack by
walking 10 in the 2nd game. Offensively, junior
Jimmy Smith was 4-4 with 2 RBIs, junior
Alex Laddbush was 2-3 with 2 RBI's, freshman
Brian Moran and sophomre Wade
Keenan added 2 hits and sophomore Bryan
Chouinard finished with 3 hits on the day.
The Mustangs are back in action Sunday at NOON at Bachman Sports
complex against conference foe Cazenovia College.
