Mustangs Win Tight One 3-2 Over Washington

Chestertown, MD.- Villa Julie traveled to Washington College on Tuesday for cold windy game.  The Mustangs played poorly but pulled out a 3-2 win late in the ball game.  Villa's starting pitcher So Wade Keenan went 8 innings allowing just 1 earned run and striking out 12 to earn the victory.  Jr Alex Laddbush finished the game with 2 K's in 1 inning and picking up his first collegiate save, although it was a tough one that included 2 infield hit and a bloop in his lone inning of work.  The Mustangs took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd on a single by So Griffin Stewart.  They wouldn't score again until they loaded the bases in the ninth, and scored on a 2 run error that solidified the game for the Mustangs.  Washington's pitcher Colananni took the tough loss, pitching 8.1 innings allowing just 1 earned run.  

The Mustangs will be back in action on Thursday @ McDaniel College for a 3:30 start.  The Mustangs home opener will then follow on Friday vs Gettysburg, time TBA as they moved the game from Gettysburg (snow) to have it played on that day.
