STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Senior Iddriss Iddriss cranked out a school-record time of 4:16.6 in the mile at the Gotham Cup, held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, to take third overall in the event and first among collegiate runners. Iddriss' performance, which eclipsed the previous school record by .5 seconds (Langston Gash, 2018), is currently tops in the Mideast region and third in Division III. Senior Patrick Watson placed sixth overall and fourth among college runners in the event with a personal-best time of 4:22.77.
Junior Dereck Davis clocked a time of 6.95 seconds in the 60m dash finals to take fourth overall and third among college runners. Davis still holds the top performance in Division III with a time of 6.81 at the Kaye & JJ Smith Invitational, which was held on January 12.
Freshman Damani Jones finished seventh in the 60m hurdles final with a time of 8.53 seconds. Jones set the school record in the event on January 12 with a time of 8.45.
The Mustangs continue their indoor campaign on Saturday, January 25 at the Diplomat Open, hosted by Franklin and Marshall.
