Fabrice Saint Hillien opened up the outdoor season with victories in both the 200 and 400m dash at Betty S. Rogers Spring Break Invitational, hosted by Virginia Wesleyan. Saint Hillien clocked a winning time of 21.92 in the 200 and 50.24 in the 400. Saint Hillien's time in the 400 is fastest in the MAC thus far.
Saint Hillien would also lead the 4x400 team of
Frank McCann,
Malachi Griffin and
Josh Harris to a second-place finish with a time of 3:32.08.
Individually, Griffin opened up his outdoor career with a third-place finish in the 200 (22.41). McCann clocked a 50.47 and took fifth in the 400, while Griffin took sixth with a 51.53.
Aidan Petraglia qualified for the MAC Championships with a 10:15.31 and first-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase.
Joshua Tidwell and
Zachary Moore placed fifth and sixth (and qualified for MACs) in the triple jump with distances of 12.61 and 12.50m. Moore would also qualify in long jump with a top leap of 6.29m.
Braxton Jones placed seventh in the 100m finals with a solid time of 11.50.
Zion Stokes finished the 400m hurdles in 1:01.42.
Shawn Rockey earned a MAC spot in the discus with a top toss of 36.65m, which gave him seventh overall.
Lloyd Cox took seventh in the hammer throw with a distance of 34.15m.
Cory Cherenfant placed third in the high jump with a height of 1.65m.
Josh Harris clocked a 2:04.11 in the 800.
The Mustangs compete next at the Green Terror Invite, hosted by McDaniel, on Friday, April 3.
