GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Mustangs dropped their first event of the new year on the road to conference foe Arcadia in a dual meet.
Stevenson started the afternoon with a pair of runners-up results.
Denise Martinez,
Olivia Jansen,
Alexa Darak, and
Laila Umrani-Sanders swam a 4:27.44 in the 400-yard Medley Relay, and
Charlotte Forte swam an 11:57.13 in the 1000-yard Freestyle.Â
In the 200-yard Free, Martinez secured third after swimming a 2:12.74.
The Mustangs followed Martinez's third-place finish with three consecutive runner-up results. Martinez swam a 1:09.00 in the 100-yard Backstroke, Jansen recorded a 1:18.91 in the 100-yard Breaststroke, and Darak finished the 200-yard Butterfly with a time of 2:33.00.
Allie Huck swam a season-best 28.03 in the 50-yard Freestyle and secured third place. Umrani-Sanders followed Huck's performance with a second-place result in the 100-yard Free with a time of 59.81.
Jansen and
Hailey Buenemann grabbed a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 200-yard Back and 200-yard Breast, respectively.
Forte followed Buenemann's fourth-place result with the team's final second-place finish of the afternoon. In the 500-yard Free, Forte swam a 5:54.22, less than two seconds off the event victor.
Stevenson ended the meet with three consecutive third-place results.
Claire Price recorded a time of 1:12.17 in the 100-yard Fly,
Eryn O'Brien swam a 2:35.60 in the 200-yard Individual Medley, and Darak,
Jorden Sowards-Barnett, Katalie Kent, and Umrani-Sanders swam a 1:54.25 in the final event of the meet, the 200-yard Free Relay.
The Mustangs compete against FDU-Florham next weekend at the Rosenberg Aquatic Center.
