ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. -
Laila Umrani-Sanders and
Olivia Jansen grabbed a top finish while the Mustangs defeated Southern Virginia University and fell to St. Mary's College (Md.) and Bridgewater College.
Stevenson University ended the St. Mary's quad-meet with nine top three finishes and defeated Southern Virginia 142-120 and lost against St. Mary's (Md.) 129-133, and Bridgewater 105-157.
Umrani-Sanders swam a personal best during the 200-yard Freestyle, swimming a 2:07.77, which captured her team's first pole postion finish of the event.
The 34.40 Jansen swam in the 50-yard Breaststroke was her season-best and claimed the Mustangs' second top finish of the afternoon.
James Riordon's team went on to claim four second place results after Umrani-Sanders and Jansen's first place results.
Alexa Darak swam a time of 1:06.51 in the 100-yard Butterfly, while Jansen secured the fourth top-two finish with a 1:15.49 in the 100-yard Breaststroke.
The final two runners-up finishes were
Charlotte Forte's time of 5:54.25 in the 500-yard Freestyle, as well as,
Denise Martinez's 2:26.31 in the 200-yard IM.
Umrani-Sanders was part of two more top three finishes. She swam a 57.71 in the 100-yard Freestyle and was a part of the 200-yard Freestyle Relay that swam a 1:50.29, alongside
Claire Price,
Jorden Sowards-Barnett, and Martinez.
Sowards-Barnett claimed an individual third place finish with a time of 1:09.14 in the 100-yard Backstroke.
