FREDERICK, Md. - The Stevenson women's swimming team kicked off its season with a dominating tri-meet win over host Hood (207-36) and Goucher (199-42).
Charlotte Forte opened up her collegiate career with a first-place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:46.96. Forte would also take second in the 200 Free with a time of 2:13.11.
Olivia Jansen picked up her first-career individual win with a 1:18.02 in the 100 Breast.
Sophia Schultze finished just behind Jansen with a 1:18.40.
Sydney Kawana cruised to victory in the 50 Free with a time of 32.62, while Schultze won the 50 Breast with a time of 35.70. Jansen finished just behind Schultze with a time of 36.61.
Laila Umrani-Sanders won the 50 Free and 200 Free in her collegiate debut with times of 26.24 and 2:12.18. Umrani-Sanders would also pick up second place in the 100 IM with a time of 1:09.51.
Denise Martinez picked up a win in the 100 Back with a time of 1:03.75. She would also place second in the 50 Free (27.52) and 500 Free (5:52.13).
Alexa Darak picked up a victory in the 100 Free (1:02.17), while also taking third in the 100 IM (1:09.60).
In the relays,
Jorden Sowards-Barnett, Jansen, Umrani-Sanders and Darak took first in the 200 Medley with a time of 2:04.41. To close out the meet, Forte,
Allison Fitzgerald,
Hailey Buenemann and Martinez won the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:53.82.
The Mustangs will have about a month of training before competing in the St. Mary's College Tri-Meet against St. Mary's and Bridgewater on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 1:00 pm.
