FREDERICK, Md. - The Stevenson men's swimming team kicked off its season with a tri-meet sweep of Goucher (202-41) and host Hood (188-54).
Brendan Lach took first place in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:18.40, while also taking third in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:13.25.
Brandon Cogdill clocked a 32.07 in the 50 Breast to take first overall. Cogdill would also place third in the 100 Individual Medley with a time of 1:01.36.
Zachary Clark placed touched the wall first in the 100 Fly with a time of 55.18, while also taking first in the 100 Back with a 58.35. Clark also took third in the 200 Free with a 2:03.33.
Justin Watts won the 50 Free with a 24.55.
Alexander Kaye and
Jacob Pagent placed second and third with times of 25.06 and 25.43.
Noah Abd placed first in the 100 Breast in his collegiate debut with a time of 1:05.33. Abd also placed second in the 100 Fly with a 58.65.
Keon Pugh edged out teammate
Zachory Hogg by .08 seconds to take first in the 200 Free with a time of 2:01.81.
William Lebron picked up two second-place finishes for the Mustangs (50 Breast - 32.17, 100 IM - 1:00.74).
Aiden Dill, Abd, Pugh and
Tydus Coogan placed second in the 200 Medley Relay with a combined time of 1:49.29. Clark,
Nicholas Bierstine, Hogg and Cogdill finished second in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:37.97.
The Mustangs will have about a month of training before competing in the St. Mary's College Tri-Meet against St. Mary's and Bridgewater on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 1:00 pm.
