Nathan Williams kicked off his outdoor season in style with a first-place finish in the discus on day one of the Doc Jopson Invitational, hosted by Bridgewater. Williams' throw of 49.71m (MAC Qualifier) was just .71m off of his personal best and over 3.5m better than the second-place finisher.
Hayden Schindler took second place out of eight runners with a time of 31:55.20 (MAC Qualifier) in the 10,000m run, while
Parker Weigel placed third in the pole vault with a top height of 3.90m (MAC Qualifier) - matching his personal best.
The Mustangs are currently tied for fourth out of 13 teams with 24 points.
The majority of the events will take place on day two of the meet, which is set to resume at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
