OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson men's swimming team dropped a nail-biter to McDaniel by a score of 130-124 at the Rosenberg Aquatic Center.
Sean Sopko led the way for the Mustangs with three victories. Sopko won the 100 Backstroke by over two seconds with a time of 55.96.
Zachary Clark took third in the event with a 59.59. Sopko dominated in the 50 Free with a time of 22.04 - which he won by more than two seconds. Sopko would also notch a win in the 100 Free with a time of 50:53.
William Lebron opened up his day with a win in the 1000 Free, where he finished with a time of 11:02.34, which was almost 20 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Clark took third with an 11:38.22. Lebron would also place second in the 100 Free and 100 Breast with times of 50.53 and 1:09.45.
Clark cruised to a first-place finish in the 200 Breaststroke where he touched the wall in 2:28.87 - over seven seconds faster than second place.
Brandon Cogdill picked up a pair of second-place finishes (200 Back - 2:15.09, 100 Fly - 1:00.88), while
Alexander Kaye took second in the 500 Free (5:46.88).
Lebron, Clark, Cogdill and Sopko closed out the meet with a win in the 200 Free Relay (1:31.83).
Stevenson (4-3, 3-0 MAC) competes next at the three-day Spartan Invitational starting on Friday, Nov. 22.
