Stevenson to host Military Appreciation Game on Saturday versus FDU-Florham

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson University will be hosting its first Military Appreciation Game on Saturday, November 2, as the Mustangs host FDU-Florham at noon at Mustang Stadium.

During the contest, the University will recognize and honor active and retired military members. In addition, the University will also acknowledge those student-athletes who have family members that are currently serving or have served in the Armed Forces.

Active-duty and veteran service members will be admitted free with a military ID. Service members will be honored pre-game as escorts for the Marching Band and as participants in the ceremonial coin toss.

All service members are invited to stop by our table on the concourse to sign the commemorative jersey that will be displayed in the Green Zone lounge and to pick up a thank you gift bag. The gift bag includes a thank you card written by a member of the Stevenson community, a keychain, pen, candy, voucher for a free hot dog, and a red, white, and blue ribbon/pin for them to wear for the day.

This game is one part of the Green Zone Initiative by Stevenson University, which aims to support our military-connected Mustangs. This includes our active-duty and veteran students, faculty, and staff, as well as students from military families who are attending Stevenson using parental military education benefits.

Stevenson has just been recognized by US News and World Report as a Best College for Veterans.
