OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University swimming teams returned from Florida and jumped right back into competition, hosting Juniata and Lebanon Valley in a tri-meet on Saturday.
The women swept both opponents, defeating Lebanon Valley 116-75 and Juniata 132-60, while the men bested the Flying Dutchmen 136-65 and the Eagles, 155-12.
The women started the meet by winning the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:02.98, as Abby Bachman,
Zoey Lincoln,
Mackenzie Payne and
Kaylie Wolf teamed up to take first.
The men did the same, winning the relay with a time of 1:50.95 as
Brandon Cogdill,
Skyler Coburn,
Ian D'Angiolillo and
Jack Mark won the relay.
Alexa Darak won the 1000 free as she bested Maegan Jordan of Juniata with a time of 12:01.45.
Hayden Kaus won the 1000 free 12:12.69, with
Haden Welsh third at 12:52.36.
In the 200 free, Kaczmarski won the event at 2:14.75, with
Sean Sopko winning the men's side at 1:52.04 and
Brady Gotter second at 2:08.33.
Lincoln was third in the 50 free at 27.82, with Zac Clark winning the men's side at 23.05.
In the 200 IM,
Mackayla Du was second at 2:33.19, with
Jennie Hudson third at 2:34.00. Cogdill won the men's side at 2:16.83, with D'Angiolillo second at 2:17.97. Coburn was third at 2:22.92.
In the 100 fly, Kaczmarski was second at 1:11.40 with Allie Fitzgerald third at 1:16.09. Clark won the men's event at 57.15, with Sopko second at 57.21.
In the 100 free, Darak was second at 1:01.15, followed by Hudson in third at 1:01.35. On the men's side, D'Angiolillo was second in the 100 free at 53.52, with
Riley Strain in third at 55.77.
In the 100 back,
Sydney Kawana was second at 1:08.66 with Lincoln third at 1:08.96. Clark won the men's event at 1:01.29 with Gotter second at 1:06.38. Welsh was third at 1:09.30.
In the 500 free,
Emmalynn Kohl was second at 6:17.67, with
Shelby Flynn third at 6:47.01. Sopko won the men's event at 5:31.14 with Kaus second at 6:09.34.
The 100 breast saw the Stevenson men go 1-2-3, as Cogdill was first at 1:09.03, Mark second at 1:09.81 and Coburn third at 1:13.65.
In the final event, Hudson, Kaczmarski, Bachman and Du were second in the 200 free at 1:52.92. Strain, Kaus, Welsh and Gotter were second at 1:44.25.
Stevenson heads to FDU-Florham on Thursday.
