Box Score HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC - The Stevenson women's tennis team opened up spring break with a 6-3 defeat to Western Connecticut State.
In No. 1 doubles,
Torrienne Emery and
Jacquelyn Nesbeth picked up Stevenson's lone doubles victory by a 6-3 score.
Mackenzie Dicke and
Erin Saunders fell in No. 2 by an 8-5 score, while
Kera Skove and
Bethany Luckett dropped their No. 3 match, 8-3.
Emery improved her singles record to 4-0 with a 6-4, 6-0 triumph in No. 1. Nesbeth picked up her third win of the season in a hard-fought No. 2 showdown, 6-3, 6-7 (10), 1-0 (11).
Dicke took both sets to a tiebreak, but would eventually fall, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (4). The loss drops Dicke's singles record to 2-2.
Skove, Saunders and Luckett dropped their singles matches in straight sets.
The Mustangs (2-2) continue their spring break slate of matches against Maryville College (TN) on Wednesday, March 15 at 6 p.m.
