WILKES-BARRE, Pa. -
Samantha Zudov advanced to the quarterfinals at the MAC Individual Championshps, hosted by King's and Wilkes, but would eventually fall to third-seeded Morrissey Walsh of York in No. 5 singles. Zudov made it to the quarters after cruising to a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the first round.
Mackenzie Dicke also advanced to the quarters after winning a hard-fought opening round match in No. 4 singles, 4-6, 6-1, 10-8. Dicke would fall to the second-seeded player from Stevens in straight sets.Â
Zudov and doubles partner
Erin Saunders made it to the quarter in No. 3 doubles after defeating the squad from Arcadia by an 8-2 score, but they would drop their next match to second-seeded Lebanon Valley.
Kera Skove and Dicke dropped a hard-fought match by an 8-6 score in their No. 2 singles draw.Â
Torrienne Emery won the first set of her No. 1 singles match, but would fall in the next two and lose by an 6-7 (3), 6-2, 10-6 score.Â
Dicke also had a one-set lead in her No. 4 singles opening round match, but would eventually fall in three sets, 4-6, 6-1, 10-8.
Stevenson competes next in a team match at Trinity (D.C.) on Tuesday, September 20 at 3 p.m.
