FREDERICK, Md. - The Stevenson women's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 victory in a conference match against Hood, improving their MAC record to 2-0.
The lone defeat for the Mustangs came in No. 1 doubles where freshman Alexandria Kramer and junior Torrienne Emery fell in a hard-fought 8-7 defeat.
Senior Jacquelyn Nesbeth and sophomore Kera Skove dominated their opponents by an 8-2 score in No. 2, while freshman Jazmine Arias and sophomore Samantha Zudov shutout their opponents in No. 3 - giving them three wins on the season.
Emery won her third match out of the last four in No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0. Nesbeth took her No. 2 match in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4, giving her four wins out of the last five.
Kramer and Skove each won their third singles match out of the last four by scores of 6-3, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-1.
Zudov won her fourth match of the year in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. Arias shutout her opponent by a 6-0, 6-0 score in No. 6. Arias has won three out of her last four matches.
Stevenson competes next in a non-conference home match against Trinity (D.C.) on Friday, April 8 at 3:00 p.m.
