ST. DAVID'S, Pa. - The Stevenson women's tennis team won their second-straight match in an 8-1 triumph over host Eastern in their MAC opener.
Freshman Alexandria Kramer and junior Torrienne Emery opened up play with a hard-fought defeat in No. 1 doubles, 8-7 (7-5).
Senior Jacquelyn Nesbeth and sophomore Kera Skove, however, cruised to an 8-2 win in No. 2 doubles - giving them two wins on the year. In No. 3, freshman Jazmine Arias and sophomore Samantha Zudov dominated their No. 3 opponents, 8-0, giving them two wins on the year.
Emery cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory in No. 1 singles for her second-straight win, while Nesbeth also took down her No. 2 opponent in straight sets by a 6-0, 6-4 score. Nesbeth has won three matches in a row.
Kramer defeated her No. 3 opponent in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, giving her two straight victories.
Skove won her second-straight match by a 6-1, 6-1 margin, while Zudov picked up her third win by a 6-0, 6-1 score in No. 5.
Arias won her second match in a row by sweeping her No. 6 match, 6-0, 6-0.
The Mustangs (3-8, 1-0 MAC) will head to Salisbury to take on the Seagulls in a non-conference matchup on Sunday, April 3. First serve is set for 10:00 a.m.
