GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Stevenson women's tennis team dropped their second-straight conference match in a 7-2 setback to host Messiah.
The Falcons (4-8, 2-1 MACC) took control of the match early on by sweeping the doubles matches.
Junior Torrienne Emery and freshman Alexandria Kramer fell by an 8-2 score in No. 1, while senior Jacquelyn Nesbeth and sophomore Kera Skove dropped their match by an 8-1 margin.
Emery picked up one of Stevenson's two victories on the day in No. 1 singles, winning a hard-fought two-set contest, 7-5, 6-4. Emery has now won five of her last seven matches.
The other win for the Mustangs (5-11, 2-2 MACC) came from sophomore Samantha Zudov, who won a three-set thriller by a score of 6-3, 1-6, 10-7 in No. 5 singles - giving her six wins on the season.
Skove lost a highly-contested three-set match in No. 4 singles by a 4-6, 6-2, 10-7 score.
Stevenson will be back in action on Wednesday, April 20 when they take on York (Pa.) at the Stevenson Courts. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m.
