GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Facing its second top-10 opponent in as many games to open the season, Stevenson women's lacrosse fell to ninth-ranked Gettysburg by a 15-7 tally on Saturday afternoon. 

Stevenson (0-2) was playing on the road for the first time this season, while Gettysburg (1-0) began its season on Saturday. McKenna Blick ripped six goals on just eight shots, while Kaitlyn Kozlowski rounded out the scoring for the Mustangs. 

Seven different Gettysburg players got into the goal column, including a team-high five from Jordan Basso. The Bullets scored on their second attempt of the afternoon and did not look back. 

Blick sliced the early deficit in half with 8:18 remaining in the opening quarter before the Bullets ended the frame in a flurry, leading 7-1. Gettysburg continued expanding its lead into halftime, part of a larger stretch of six unanswered going into the fourth quarter. 

Stevenson scored the final four goals of the afternoon, all coming unassisted from Blick. Jaibyn Hull caused a pair of turnovers, while Caroline Murphy nabbed three draw controls. 

Gettysburg held a 32-19 advantage in shots as the Bullets pushed their lead in the all-time series to 9-0. 

Sophie Shucosky made nine saves over 56 minutes before Caroline Ready entered in relief. The Mustangs opened the season against top-ranked Salisbury last week, continuing to challenge themselves with a grueling nonconference slate.
