Mellor joins Women’s Lacrosse staff as Assistant Coach ahead of the 2027 season

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson women's lacrosse head coach Kendra Herbenar has announced the hiring of Macaul Mellor as an assistant coach ahead of the 2027 season.

"I am thrilled to welcome Macaul to the Stevenson women's lacrosse program. She brings an incredible amount of enthusiasm and passion for the game, along with valuable experience as both a coach and a former Division I player," said Herbenar. "Her time coaching at Neumann has given her a strong foundation in developing student-athletes and contributing to a team culture, and I know she will bring that same energy and commitment to Stevenson. I am excited for the impact she will have on our players, program, and continued pursuit of excellence."

Mellor joins the Mustangs following two seasons as an assistant coach at Neumann University, where she helped lead the Knights to their first-ever Atlantic East Conference Championship. Her arrival brings additional NCAA Division I playing experience and a proven record of success at the collegiate level to the Stevenson coaching staff.

Prior to her time at Neumann, Mellor spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Cabrini University before the university's closure. During her tenure with the Cavaliers, Mellor helped the program capture back-to-back Atlantic East Championships and make two NCAA Tournament appearances.

Outside of collegiate coaching, Mellor spent time as a Speed and Strength Trainer at Limitless Philly, enhancing strength and speed with a wide range of athletes. She also coaches with HHH Lacrosse out of Philadelphia, Pa. working with female lacrosse players ranging from the grade school to collegiate level.

Before beginning her coaching career, Mellor was a NCAA Division I student-athlete at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2018-22. A defensive standout for the Buffaloes, she appeared in 51 contests, recording 54 ground balls and 53 draw controls while causing 44 turnovers.

"I couldn't be more thrilled to join Coach Kendra's staff at Stevenson. Her vision for this program is clear, and I'm looking forward to learning from her leadership as we work to elevate the program," said Mellor "My passion lies in individual player growth, and I want to create an environment where our team is developing their skills, competing hard, and genuinely loving the game every day."

Mellor earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder.
