Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Stevenson women's basketball ended the regular season with one of its most complete efforts, picking up a 76-60 Senior Day triumph over Albright on Saturday afternoon.
Stevenson (11-12, 8-7) pulled away with a big third quarter, locking up a home playoff game in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Quarterfinals as the number four seed. The Mustangs will square off with Albright (12-10, 7-9), seeded fifth in the conference tournament, again on Wednesday.
The Mustangs picked up their shooting, particularly from deep, in the second half with contributions on both ends of the floor from across the lineup. Aysia Ferguson posted a team-high 15 points, with 12 each for Olivia Coleman and Kellie Johnson (4-4 3FG). Coleman secured a double-double with 13 rebounds, while Karleigh Leo provided a spark off the bench with 11 points in 11 minutes.
Stevenson made a season-high 11 triples, shooting at a blistering 55% clip. It was the first time all season the Mustangs made 10 or more triples in a game.
The Mustangs took the lead heading into halftime and held Albright to just 2-of-10 shooting in the third quarter, using a 20-3 spurt to open up a 58-39 advantage. The 19-point edge was the largest of the day as Leo keyed the run for the Mustangs, heating up on the offensive end and energizing the Owings Mills Gymnasium crowd.
Stevenson cruised in the fourth quarter with a double-figure advantage, rattling off three consecutive trey balls from Kellie Johnson, Morgan DeBeary and Laci Johnson to put an exclamation point on a resounding effort.
