Owings Mills, Md. (July 30) – The Stevenson University women's basketball team was recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) as an Academic Top 25 Team Special Mention for the 2025-26 academic year, marking another strong achievement for the program in the classroom.

The Mustangs finished the academic year with a 3.32 cumulative team grade-point average, earning Special Mention status among NCAA Division III institutions. Stevenson ranked among the top academic women's basketball programs nationally while also posting one of the highest team GPAs in the MAC Commonwealth conference.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 honors NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, and two-year college women's basketball programs that achieve the highest combined team grade-point averages for the academic year. Programs with a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher that qualify for consideration but do not finish in the top 25 receive Special Mention recognition.

The 2025-26 academic year marks the 31st year the WBCA has recognized women's basketball programs for their academic excellence, highlighting teams that have demonstrated success both on the court and in the classroom.
