OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson Director of Athletics
Jordan Hoover announced the hiring of Casey Filiault as the third Head Women's Basketball Coach in Mustang Athletics history on Thursday. Filiault will begin leading the program in the coming week.
"We are thrilled to welcome Casey Filiault to the Stevenson Athletics family," said Hoover. "Casey's infectious energy, passion for student-athlete development, and ability to quickly build strong relationships were apparent from the very start of the search process. Her vision for the program and drive for competitive excellence, both on and off the court, align perfectly with our vision for Mustang Athletics. I am incredibly excited for the next chapter of Mustangs women's basketball under Casey's leadership."
Filiault comes to Stevenson following an 18-month stint as an assistant coach at Le Moyne College, where she helped guide the program's transition from NCAA Division II to Division I. With the Dolphins, she served as Lead Assistant Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, and Defensive Coordinator. She planned workouts, prepared scouting reports, and coordinated team operations, including travel and meals, while serving as a liaison to academic services, strength and conditioning, athletic training, and sports information.
Prior to Le Moyne, Filiault spent one season at The Catholic University of America as the Jamie L. Roberts Endowed Assistant Coach. She helped lead the Cardinals to a 26-3 overall record and an NCAA Tournament berth. In addition to assisting with program operations, Filiault led multiple on-court instruction sessions during practices and played a key role in personal growth and leadership development for student-athletes.
Filiault also served as a graduate assistant at DeSales University, where she was part of two MAC Freedom Championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances. During her tenure, the team compiled a 49-6 record. She created scouting reports, managed recruiting and marketing efforts on social media, and provided professional development support to student-athletes, focusing on academic progress, athletic development, and personal goal setting.
"I am truly honored and extremely grateful to be named the head women's basketball coach at Stevenson University," said Filiault. "I want to thank Director of Athletics
Jordan Hoover and the search committee for this opportunity. There is real energy and momentum here at Stevenson, and I look forward to building something special that our program, university, and community can be proud to be a part of. I can't wait to get started."
Filiault earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education with a minor in Athletic Coaching from Kean University, where she was a four-year student-athlete. She later earned her Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from DeSales.
