STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson women's tennis team picked up its second conference win of the year in a 6-3 home victory over Messiah. This is also the program's first win over Messiah.
Senior Megan Waskiewicz and sophomore Torrienne Emery started play with a dominating 8-2 win in No. 1 doubles.
Freshmen Alexandria Kramer and Kera Skove picked up a win in No. 3 doubles, 8-5. Junior Jacquelyn Nesbeth and senior Esha Kashmiri dropped a hard-fought match in No. 2, 8-7 (6-4).
Emery won her first singles match in No. 1 singles by a 7-5, 6-2 score, while Nesbeth won her No. 2 match in straight sets by a 6-4, 6-1 score.
Kashmiri took her No. 4 match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, while Skove won her No. 5 match in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-5), 5-7, 1-0 (7-3).
The Mustangs (2-3, 2-0 MAC) will look to even up their overall record and stay undefeated in conference play when they face off against Eastern at the Stevenson Courts on Wednesday, April 21. First serve is set for 3:00 p.m.
