Mustangs Tipped in OT By Widener on Senior Day

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - In a game where neither team led by more than a goal, visiting Widener scored 1:33 into the first overtime to edge Stevenson 8-7 in MAC Commonwealth women's lacrosse Saturday afternoon at Mustang Stadium

  • Widener (5-4, 3-2 MAC Commonwealth) got on the board 1:52 into the game on Katie Ward's 13th goal of the season.
  • Kirsten Foster responded for Stevenson (9-2, 5-2) at the 21:52 mark to the the game 1-1.
  • Kaitlyn Kozlowski's 20th goal of the season just under two minutes later gave the Mustangs their first lead of the game, 2-1.
  • The Pride responded with a goal at the 16:16 mark, before Caroline Murphy put home a low-angle shot from the left of Widener goalie Maddie Medve to make it a 3-2 Stevenson lead.
  • Caroline Kelley tied the game for Widener with 5:28 left.
  • With a man-up situation 33 seconds before halftime, Widener took a 4-3 lead on a Gab Cohen man-up tally.

  • Hannah Huff took advantage of a man-up opportunity to tie the game just over four minutes into the second half.
