Box Score HOBOKEN, N.J. - Stevenson men's lacrosse juniors Ryan Coleman and Connor Nelson each netted three goals as the 20th-ranked Mustangs erased a first quarter deficit to down 18th-ranked Stevens, 13-8, in the season opener for both teams Saturday afternoon at DeBaun Athletic Complex.
- The Ducks (0-1) got on the board first just 1:52 into the quarter as Mikey Whiteside scored on the hosts first shot on net.
- Stevens pushed its lead to two at the 9:57 mark after scoring on a turnover in the Mustangs (1-0) defensive zone.
- The hosts scored back-to-back goals, 58 seconds apart, to give the Ducks a 4-0 lead with 4:48 remaining.
- Senior Jacob Tatum got Stevenson on the board with 3:15 remaining, scoring unassisted.
- Stevens closed out the opening quarter with the second goal of the game by Ryan Caplis with two seconds remaining to take a 5-1 lead.
- The Mustangs outscored the Ducks, 6-0 in the second quarter to take a 7-5 halftime lead.
- Nelson and junior Josh Brannan scored back-to-back goals just 1:18 apart to get the visitors within two before Coleman scored at the 9:24 mark to get the deficit to just one.
