Murphy Records 100th-Career Point, Women's Lacrosse Downs Albright, 16-4

READING, Pa. - Junior attack Caroline Murphy recorded her 100th-career point as she recorded six goals and one asisst on Saturday afternoon at Murphy Gene L. Shirk Stadium. The Mustangs had six different players contribute to the 16-4 win over MAC Commonwealth Opponent Albright.

  • Murphy reeled off two goals for Stevenson (5-1, 2-1 MACC) just six minutes into the first half, at the 24:58 mark, on a free-position shot, she collected her 100th career point just 40 seconds later on a goal to give the Mustangs a 2-0 lead.
  • At the 21:43 mark, Kara Yarusso scored her 11th goal of the season to make it a 3-0 game.
  • Albright's (2-4, 1-3 MACC) Lauren China got one on the board for the Lions on a free position shot at the 20:43 mark. Two minutes later, Kyra Lycett also put in a free position shot to come within one of Stevenson.
  • Her second goal of the day, Yarusso extended the lead by two at the 17:23 mark.
  • Stevenson scored the next four goals of the game, two Mary Marc goals, one Murphy, and one Yarusso.
  • 5:03 remaining, Katelyn Patrick put in her fifth goal of the season to bring the Lions within five of the Mustangs.
  • With 2:22 remaining before break, on a free-position shot Kaitlyn Kozlowski kept the Mustangs leading 9-3.

  • Lan Le Crotty scored on an assist from Hannah Huff at the 25:57 mark. Kozlowski followed a minute later on a free position shot to make it an 11-3 game.
  • At the 19:39 mark, Murphy scored a goal by an assist from Yarusso extending the lead by nine. Murphy followed up four mintues later to score her fifth goal of the game.
  • Hannah Huff put oen in the back of the net at the 14:53 mark before Murphy scored her sixth and final goal of the game on a Huff assist at the 9:57 mark.
  • Crotty scored her third goal of the game and 12th of the season on a Murphy assist with 5:22 remaining.
  • Albright's Lauren China closed out scoring with 41 seconds remaining to make four goals total for the Lions.

  • Stevenson outshot Albright 45-18.
  • Kozlowski had six draw controls for the Mustangs.
  • Shannon Snyder recorded three caused turnovers.
  • Sophie Shucosky had four saves on seven shots.
  • The visitors went 4-for-11 on free position shots while the hosts went 2-for-2.
  • Murphy has a toal of 105 career points.
