STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson women's tennis team fell in its season opener to visiting Hood by a score of 5-2 at the Greenspring Tennis Courts.
Freshmen Alexandria Kramer and Samantha Zudov kicked off their collegiate careers with an 8-6 victory in No. 2 doubles. Seniors Esha Kashmiri and Megan Waskiewicz lost a hard-fought match in No. 1 doubles by an 8-6 margin.
In No. 1 singles, Waskiewicz overcame a one-set deficit, but would eventually fall in her match by a 6-2, 4-6, 10-5 score. Zudov fell in her No. 3 match 6-4, 6-2, while Kramer dropped her first collegiate singles match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. Kashmiri fell in her No. 2 singles match, 6-2, 6-2.
Stevenson's other win came via default.
The Mustangs (0-1, 0-1) compete next in a home match against Arcadia on Saturday, March 27 at 12:00 p.m.
