Women's Lacrosse Wins Fourth Straight Against Delaware Valley

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - Junior Caroline Murphy totaled eight goals and five assists, while junior Hannah Huff netted four goals and three assists to lead the Stevenson women's lacrosse team to a 26-1 victory over MAC Freedom's Delaware Valley on Saturday afternoon at Lipinski Field.

  • Stevenson (4-0, 1-0 MACC) took the lead just two minutes into the game from a Maddie Zeller free position shot.
  • The Mustangs scored the next four goals capped by a Kirsten Foster free position goal at the 24:05 mark, 5-0.
  • At the 14 minute mark and the Mustangs leading 10-0, Huff reeled off two goals for the Mustangs with assists from Caroline Murphy to make it a 12-0 game.
  • Delaware Valley (0-4, 0-1 MACF) Jaden Keefer found the back of the net at the 11:12 mark to put one on the board for the Aggies.
  • One Caity Schaefer and two Kara Yarusso goals in the remaining six minutes of the half led the Mustangs 15-1.
  • Sophie Shucosky had one save on the half at the 1:44 mark when Delaware Valley's Amanda McKeegan went in for a goal.

  • Murphy, Schaefer, and Lauren Tarnowski each scored one goal in the opening five minutes of the half for the Mustangs, 18-1.
  • Just four minutes later, Murphy scored on a free position shot, at the 18:13 mark, Huff netted one to extend the Mustangs lead by 19.
  • Murphy scored her fifth and sixth goals of the game at the 14:43 and 13:55 marks for Stevenson. Kaitlyn Kozlowski and Shannon Snyder each scored at the 12:02 and 9:56 marks.
  • Murphy finishes the game with two goals with 6:05 and 3:04 to close out the scoring.

  • Murphy's 14 total points set a  program record for points in a game.  The previous record of 13 was set by Leah Warner against Elizabethtown in 2013.  Her nine goals tied the program record nine scored by Warner in that game.
  • Stevenson outshot Delaware Valley 41-5.
  • Stevenson totaled nine ground balls while the Aggies had eight.
  • The hosts had 14 draw controls while the visitors had 13.
  • Kozlowski had four caused turnovers.

  • Stevenson travels to Albright for a MAC Commonwealth contest on Saturday, March 27 set for 1:00 p.m. at Shirk Stadium.
