OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson University women's lacrosse team opened their 2020 campaign on Saturday afternoon at Mustang Stadium. The Mustangs fell to No. 3 Salisbury 14-2. Sophomore Caroline Murphy scored the first goal of the game seven minutes into the game, also scoring the last goal of the game with four and half minutes left to play.

• Stevenson (0-1) got on the board first at the 23:26 mark on a goal by Murphy assisted by Carly Bowes.
• At the 21:59 mark, Julie Talbert tied the game for Salisbury (1-0), 1-1, assisted by Alexis Strobel.
• The Seagulls scored the next three goals to extend the lead by three, 4-1, Tarbert's and Skoglunds being one minute apart.
• On a free-position attempt at the 16:07 mark, Talbert scored her second goal of the game to extend Salisbury's lead by four, 5-1.
• Salisbury scored the next five goals in the final four minutes to take the lead, 10-1.
• Both teams had seven draw controls in the opening 30 minutes.

• Strobel scored her third goal of the game for the Seagulls at the 25:25 mark to make it a 11-1 game.
• A Mack Ferguson save at the 15:06 mark on a free-position shot from Riley Hartman.
• The Seagulls scored at 12:50 and 9:53 to increase the lead to 14-1.
• Murphy scored her second goal of the game for the Mustangs at the 4:23 mark off a free-position attempt to end the game 2-14.

• Salisbury outshot Stevenson 34-4.
• Murphy tallied two goals and and two draw controls.
• Bowes handed out one assist and two draw controls on the day.
• Ferguson finished with nine saves on the afternoon.
• The Seagulls recorded 11 of 18 in draw controls in the contest and held 15 for 25 in ground balls.

• The Mustangs return to action on Saturday, February 22 when they travel to No. 4 Gettysburg for a non-conference contest at Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium at 1 p.m.
