OWINGS MILLS, Md. - In a virtual swim meet against Hood College on Saturday, October 24th at the Henry A. Rosenberg Aquatic Center, the men's swimming team competed in a nine event lineup but fell short 107-35 against the Blazers.
Starting off the 2020-21 season in a 200-yard medley exhibition relay was Stephen Kratzer, Micah Ernest, Ian D'Angiolillo, and Brian Brown swimming their way to 1:57.02.
D'Angiolillo, Brown, and Kratzer each respecitively placed third, fifth, and sixth in the 200-yard freestyle to earn a total of six points for the Mustangs.
Ernest swam his way to a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke for a time of 1:16.88. Kratzer also took home a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall at 26.44, while teammate Haden Welsh placed fourth in 28.62.
D'Angiolillo and Ernest totaled six points for their 100-yard butterfly race, D'Angiolillo touched second at 58.32 while Ernest touched fourth in 1:10.54.
Brown and Welsh had a close race in the 100-yard backstroke, Brown got his hand on the wall in 1:26.28 for second-place and Welsh touched at 1:26.55 for third.
Veterans, Kratzer and Brown took a third and fourth place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, swimming a 59.97 and 1:00.60, respectively.
To cap the meet in indiviudal swims, D'Angiolillo and Ernest swam the 200-yard indiviudal medley to take a third and fourth place finish at 2:22.25 and 2:40.66.
