STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson women's tennis team picked up its fifth-straight win in a 5-4 triumph over visiting Arcadia.

Juniors Kelsi Mentzer and Jenna Skove kicked off the match with a solid 8-6 win in No. 1 doubles, giving the duo their fourth-straight victory and eighth overall. The win gives Mentzer a program record 32 doubles wins for her career. 

Senior Kirstyn Davidson and sophomore Megan Waskiewicz cruised to an 8-2 decision in No. 2, improving their record to 8-5. Junior Nina Bretz and freshman Jacquelyn Nesbeth dropped to 1-1 on the year after falling in No. 3 by an 8-4 margin.

Skove picked up her sixth win in No. 1 singles by taking down her opponent in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. 

Mentzer and Bretz were clutch in their match-deciding victories. Mentzer won the first set of her No. 4 match by a 6-2 score, but had to battle for the victory in a 7-6 (7-1) final set. Bretz's No. 5 match was knotted up at one set apiece before she went on put the match away in dominating fashion for a 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 win. Bretz's win moves her singles record to .500 at 7-7. 

Davidson, Waskiewicz and Endy dropped each of their respective matches in straight sets. 

The Mustangs will head to the Eastern Shore for a non-conference match at Salisbury on Sunday, April 14. The match is set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
