Five Players Net Hat Tricks in Mustangs 21-7 Victory at Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Five different players scored at least three goals, including senior Dana Stevens who netted seven, as the Stevenson women's lacrosse team recorded a season-high 21 goals in a 21-7 non-conference victory over Elizabethtown Wednesday afternoon at Wolf Field.

  • The Mustangs scored just 2:23 into the contest on an unassisted tally by Stevens as the visitors raced out to a 12-0 lead.
  • The visitors scored seven goals in the first 10 minutes with freshman Hannah Huff netting back-to-back free-position goals and classmate Caroline Murphy scoring twice.
  • Stevens recorded a hat trick in the first 11:38 and added her fourth goal just 3:01 latter.
  • Huff recorded a hat trick just past the midway point of the opening half while Murphy recorded her third goal of the game 1:40 later.
  • Freshman Lan Le Crotty scored twice in the final 10 minutes to record a hat trick before the break.

  • The Mustangs scored seven of the first eight goals of the second half, including a pair of goals by sophomore Lindsay Seipp.
  • Freshman Mary Marc recorded her first career goal and became the seventh rookie to find the back of the net this season.
  • Kate Ziegler scored the final three goals of the game for Elizabethtown and scored four of the team's seven goals.
  • Freshman Beyonce Carrington saw her first career action in net, recording a save in the final 6:26 of action.

  • Stevenson outshot Elizabethtown, 33-13 and won 21 of the 30 draw controls.
  • The Mustangs finished 5-for-6 on free-position shots while the Blue Jays were 1-for-2.
  • Stevenson has won five of their last six and now own the all-time series versus the Blue Jays, 6-5.

  • The Mustangs return home on Wednesday, April 3 when the team hosts a MAC Commonwealth contest versus Alvernia beginning at 4:00 p.m.
