Trio Combines for 10 Goals in Win Over Randolph-Macon

ASHLAND, Va. - The trio of senior Dana Stevens, junior Carly Bowes and freshman Caroline Murphy combined for 10 goals as the Stevenson women's lacrosse team posted its first win of the season with a 14-12 victory over Randolph-Macon in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at Day Field.

  • The Yellow Jackets (1-2) netted the first goal of the game, 3:42 into the contest, before the Mustangs (1-2) tied the game on the first of three goals by Murphy on an assist by sophomore Lindsay Seipp.
  • Randolph-Macon scored two goals in a 23-second span after scoring and winning the ensuing draw control just prior to the midway point of the half.
  • Just 20 seconds later, freshman Kaitlin Kozlowski netted a free-position goal.
  • After Stevenson missed a pair of free-position shots, Bowes tied the game at 4-4 with 11:59 remaining in the opening half.
  • The teams traded a pair of goals with freshman Lan Le Crotty netting her first career goal.
