It is the first overtime game for the Mustangs (1-4) since the 2016 season when they team played it two overtime contests. The team has also had four one-goal games this season.

The Shorewomen (3-0) got on the scoreboard 1:49 into the game as Kristy Grovom scored her first of two goals. Stevenson responded with a pair of goals as Bunce scored unassisted before sophomore Mallory Davila scored her first of two goals on an assist from senior MaryKate White.

The two teams traded a pair of goals to end the opening half, with the visitors taking a 4-3 lead into the break after back-to-back goals by White and Bowes.

Washington tied the game just 50 seconds into the second half before a free-position goal by Bowes put the Mustangs back in front. The hosts scored three straight to take a two-goal advantage but Stevenson once again had an answer, scoring four in-a-row, including three in a 1:46 span.

Grovom's second goal of the contest got the hosts within one with 11:57 remaining before Caitlin Donovan tied the game at 9-9 with 6:58 left in regulation.

Bowes had a chance in the closing seconds to put the Mustangs ahead but her shot with six seconds remaining was saved by Isabella Richardson, who totaled 13 saves.

In overtime, Melissa Donato won her only draw control of the game before Emily Pantazes netted the game-winner off an assist from Alison Pantazes.
