Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Top-ranked and defending national champion Gettysburg got goals from 11 different players as it posted a 21-3 non-conference women's lacrosse victory over Stevenson University Saturday afternoon at Clark Field.
The Bullets (2-0) raced out to a 15-1 halftime lead and scored the first 14 goals of the contest. Stevenson (0-3) got on the board with 5:52 left in the first half as sophomore Mallory Davila scored her second goal of the season on a feed from classmate Kiely Bunce.
Junior Dana Stevens notched her fourth goal of the season for the Mustangs at the 24:47 mark of the second half, while sophomore Carly Bowes scored the other Stevenson goal with just under a minute to play, with Bunce picking up her second assist of the afternoon. It marked Bowes' sixth goal of the season.
Bowes won five draw controls on the day as Gettysburg led Stevenson 14-11 on draws. Sophomore Sarah Roerty also picked up three draw controls. The Bullets held a 29-8 shot advantage for the game.
Gettysburg was led by Katie Willis' five goals.
Sophomore Mack Ferguson played the first 41:14 in goal for Stevenson and had one save, while junior Jess Larosa had a pair of saves over the final 18:46. Three goalies combined to make four saves for Gettysburg.
Stevenson is idle until next Saturday, March 3, when it hosts Randolph-Macon in a 1:00 non-conference contest at Mustang Stadium.
