READING, Pa. - After dropping two close conference matches, the Stevenson women's tennis team picked up its first Commonwealth win of the year against host Albright by a 6-3 score.
Sophomores Kirstyn Davidson and Christina Endy started the day off with an 8-3 win in No. 2 doubles. With the victory, Davidson and Endy are now 4-4 on the season.
In No. 4 singles, Endy picked up her fifth win of the year in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2.
Junior Colleen Martin and freshman Nina Bretz picked up the other doubles victory for the Mustangs. Martin and Bretz have won of three of their four No. 3 doubles matches this spring.
Martin would later pick up a 6-4, 6-4 victory in No. 5 singles, while Bretz won her No. 6 singles match in straight sets.
Freshman Kelsi Mentzer dominated her No. 3 singles match, 6-0, 6-0. Mentzer now has five singles victories on the year.
Stevenson (4-8, 1-2) will look to even up its conference record when it hosts Alvernia on Thursday, April 13 at 1:00 pm.
