WASHINGTON, D.C. - Stevenson women's tennis freshman Jenna Skove picked up the lone win for the Mustangs in an 8-1 loss to host Catholic. Skove won her No. 1 singles match after winning a third-set tiebreaker, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (7).
Freshman Kelsi Mentzer fought hard in her No. 2 singles match, but would eventually fall in straight sets by a 6-4, 7-5 score.
Skove and Mentzer, who teamed up in No. 1 doubles, picked up two games in an 8-2 setback.
Sophomore Tracy Nguyen won five games in her No. 6 singles match, but would eventually drop the match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.
The Mustangs play in their final team match of the fall season when they host Cairn at the Greenspring courts on Tuesday, October 11 at 4:00 pm.
