The Mustangs (0-1) held a 5-4 edge in shots going into the break, but the Griffins dominated the second half with an 11-5 advantage. With the win, Gwynedd Mercy (1-0) leveled the all-time series record at three wins apiece.
Mirza gave the visitors a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute as his shot to the far post beat a diving Ryan Oyola. Sophomore Colin Horne tallied just his second career point and first-ever assist on the play. Meanwhile, it was just the second career goal for Mirza in his second season.

Tringali finished with four saves.
