Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. - Highlighted by five goals by sophomore Hollie Larrimore, the Stevenson women's lacrosse team posted its second straight victory with an 11-6 MAC Commonwealth win over Arcadia Saturday afternoon at Easton Field.
For the 20th time in 25 conference contests, the Mustangs (4-7, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) held their opponent to under 10 goals. The team has won nine consecutive regular season league games dating back to last season.
Stevenson scored the first three goals of the contest, including two by senior Kellie McLaughlin, both on free-position shots. McLaughlin, who totaled seven goals over the last two seasons, already has nine this year.
The Knights (4-6, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth) halted the run with back-to-back goals of their own, both on the free-position before the Mustangs scored two of the final three goals of the opening half. Junior Olivia Monteiro scored one of her two goals with 2:44 remaining in the half.
Arcadia scored twice in the first five minutes of the second half to knot the game at 5-5, but the visitors scored six unaswered goals over a 16:11 span. Larrimore scored three times in the half while sophomore defender Jamie Bittner scored her first of the year.
Senior Maggie Lawder tied her season-high with 12 saves with six in each half. Defensively, senior Shelby Walter continued her career year totaling four caused turnovers and four ground balls while classmate Carli Bafford finished with seven draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Stevenson returns home for four of its final six games beginning with Lycoming on Wednesday, April 13 beginning at 7:00 p.m.
