Box Score

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Highlighted by four goals by senior Carli Bafford and a career-best 15 saves by senior Maggie Lawder, the Stevenson women's lacrosse team posted a 9-7 MAC Commonwealth victory over Lebanon Valley on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Mustang Stadium.

With the win, the Mustangs (7-8, 5-1 MAC Commonwealth) clinch a berth for the fourth straight season to the conference tournament and are currently the second seed as they hold the tiebreaker over Lebanon Valley. The team also improved to 7-0 all-time versus the Dutchmen.

The Dutchmen (9-5, 5-1 MAC Commonwealth) struck first for an early one-goal lead but the hosts responded just 23 seconds later. A free-position goal by Emma Jones reclaimed the lead for Lebanon Valley at 2-1 but the Mustangs outscored the visitors 6-1 for the remainder of the half.

Stevenson scored three free-position shots in the opening half, including two by Bafford and one by senior Kellie McLaughlin. Sophomore Jamie Bittner scored in her second consecutive game while classmate Jillian Henry scored her sixth of the year.

Lebanon Valley outscored the hosts 4-2 in the second half as the visitors scored three player-up goals as the Mustangs were whistled for three yellow cards.

In addition to her four goals, Bafford also finished with four draw controls, two caused turnovers and two ground balls. Senior Shelby Walter recorded two caused turnovers and one ground ball.

Lawder tied her career-high with 15 saves, including eight in the opening half. It is the fifth time this season Lawder has totaled at least 10 saves.

In pregame ceremonies, the team honored Bafford, Lawder, McLaughlin and Walter who have compiled a 48-23 record, including 26-3 in conference play. The group has also led the team to three conference championship games, capturing the title in 2014 and leading the team to the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.

Stevenson returns to action on Tuesday, April 26 when the Mustangs host their regular season finale versus Hood beginning at 4:00 p.m.
