STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson women's tennis team opened up their spring campaign with a 7-2 loss to visiting York at the Greenspring Tennis Courts. Despite the loss, junior Elizabeth Mayer and sophomore Jennifer Garcia picked up an 8-6 victory in No. 3 doubles.
The other win for the Mustangs came from freshman Christina Endy, who overcame a one-set deficit to win her no. 6 singles match, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.
Senior Ashlyn Hawbaker and Garcia each dropped their singles matches by the same 6-3, 6-1 score.
Sophomore Colleen Martin fell in her No.4 singles match, 6-4, 6-1.
The Mustangs continue their season on Sunday, March 6 at 12:00 pm when they host Shenandoah at the Greenspring Tennis Courts.
