MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Sophomore Colleen Martin posted a straight-sets victory at No. 6 singles but that was the lone win as the Mustangs dropped their season-opener, 8-1, versus Penn State Harrisburg Sunday afternoon at PSU's Tennis Complex.
In her first career match, freshman Shai Fenwick put up a hard fought match, falling 4-6, 5-7 at No. 5 singles. At No. 1 doubles, junior Ty-Chelle Williams and freshman Kirstyn Davidson were down 1-6, but fought back to 6-7. After a very long next game, the duo dropped the match, 6-8.
Davidson dropped a close match at No. 2 singles, 7-10 while Fenwick and junior Emily Ostrander also came close at No. 3 doubles, 4-8.
Stevenson returns to action on Sunday, September 27 when the Mustangs travel to Neumann. Match time is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
